Assistant coach, Thomas Duah has been appointed as the interim manager of AshantiGold SC until the end of the 2020/21 football season.
This comes following the departure of Frenchman Romain Folz, who was the head coach of the side.
30-year-old Folz vacated the post without the club’s consent after being in charge for only five weeks.
According to the Miners’ Public Relations Officer Eric Karikari, no new appointment will be made with 12 games to the end of the league campaign.
“There are few matches to end the season so management has appointed Thomas Duah to take charge of the team on an interim basis till the end of the season,” he told Kumasi based OTEC FM.
“We have no plans to bring in another coach as of now.”
The exit of Folz is the Obuasi-based side’s second coaching departure this season after Milovan Cirkovic left the club before the end of the first round due to ill health.
AshantiGold will hope to bounce back from last Sunday’s defeat at Elmina Sharks when they return home to host Techiman Eleven Wonders in a match-day 23 fixture at Len Clay Stadium this weekend.
The Miners currently sit on the 9th position with 30 points.
