Former Black Stars midfielder Emmanuel Agyemang Badu has admitted that they betrayed Sulley Muntari during the 2014 World Cup stressing that they owe a lot to Sulley Muntari.
Muntari was thrown out of camp during the tournament after he was accused of slapping and damaging items belonging to Moses Armah-Parker who was a management member of the Black Stars.
Since then, the former Inter Milan and Portsmouth star has not featured for the national team.
According to Agyemang Badu, the 2010 Champions League winner always stood up for his teammates who never backed him up in public.
He added that the public has a wrong perception about Muntari.
“I think as players we did not help Sulley Muntari in some situations," he told Citi TV.
“I am also guilty I cannot exclude myself.
“Most of the time he stood up for the team.
“However, we never mentioned it when we were out of camp.
“He would receive all the bashing because everyone is looking out for himself.
“I need to be real because there are times when it really hurts me,” Badu added.
Badu recently retired from the National team after representing Ghana over 70 times.
