Liberty Professionals have climbed to fourth on the standings of the Ghana Premier League following the team’s 2-0 win over Great Olympics on Sunday afternoon.
The Dansoman-based club hosted the fellow capital club at the Carl Reindorf Park today for a Matchday five clash of the ongoing 2020/2021 Ghanaian top-flight league season.
Both teams started well on the afternoon but the brilliance of the attack of the home team produced a goal in the 28th minute when Asamoah Simon Appiah found the back of the net.
Complemented with a good defensive display, the home team managed to hold on to go into the break with the lead intact.
In the second half, Great Olympics played some delightful football hoping to get on the scoresheet to get back into the game.
Unfortunately, Liberty Professionals had the antidote to all the attacks of the opponent and eventually sealed all three points in the 72nd minute with Asamoah Simon Appiah scoring again to complete a brace.
While the win takes Liberty Professionals to fourth on the Ghana Premier League table, Great Olympics have dropped to 12.
