The President of the Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG), Kwabena Yeboah has named the late Diego Armando Maradona in his top 3 players of all time.
The Argentine great and global football legend passed on Wednesday at age 60 after suffering a cardiac arrest.
Paying tribute to Diego Maradona in an interview with Hot FM on Thursday morning, Kwabena Yeboah has named the famous ‘hand of God’ goalscorer as one of the best the game has ever witnessed.
“I am sad about Diego Maradona’s death. He was a legend in football and one of the greatest of all time.
“In terms of raw talents, Messi is on top than Maradona. It’s just that Lionel Messi has not won a world cup but Maradona has won the world cup for Argentina in 1986,” the SWAG President said.
Kwabena Yeboah continued, “But to me, my best player of all time is Edson Arantes do Nascimento [world Pele]. He is the greatest player of all time.
“My top 3 best players of all time will be World Pele, Lionel Messi, and Diego Armando Maradona.”
Tributes from all around the world continue to pour in for Maradona with the President of Argentina announcing a 3-day mourning in the country.
