Black Stars midfielder Mubarak Wakaso has clinched the Chinese Super League with Guangzhou Evergrande on Thursday.
The 30-year-old Ghanaian midfielder played the entire duration of the match and put in a good shift in midfield to help his team secure their first league title.
Italian forward and Brazilian attacker Alex Teixeira scored for the Suning side as Shahao Wei got the consolation goal for the hosts.
The game ended 2-1 to the away team and were crowned champions after the first leg ended goalless.
This is the first time in Wakaso’s career that he has won a major league trophy after leaving the shores of Ghana.
Wakaso, 30, won his first league title as a player during the 2014-15 season when he played for Celtic FC in Scotland where he won the Scottish Cup as well.
