The transfer of Mohammed Salisu from Real Valladolid to Southampton is 80 to 90% complete, Abdul Mustapha who speaks for the family of the player has revealed.

As already reported by Modernghana Sports, the Ghanaian defender has reached an agreement to join the English Premier League outfit pending the grant of a work permit.

The 20-year-old defender is set to ink a 4-year contract that will see Spanish club Real Valladolid earning a sum of £11 million.

Speaking to Kumasi-based Nhyira FM, Abdul Mustapha has shared that the transfer of Mohammed Salisu to England is on the brink of completion.

“For now we don't want to say anything about the move because we're waiting for the official confirmation.

“Salisu will be leaving Real Valladolid for a Premier League club, I can assure everyone for that but let's wait.

“His move to the Premier League is about 80 to 90 percent done but let's wait for Southampton to announce the deal”, the spokesperson of the Salisu family said.

Meanwhile, Real Valladolid director Miguel Angel Gomez has disclosed that Southampton should wrap up the signing of the center-back by the close of this week

“I confirm that we have made a deal with Southampton. We expect Mohammed Salisu to join them this week”, he said in an interview.
