Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta has refused to confirm interest in Thomas Partey.
The 27-year-old Atletico Madrid midfielder has been consistently linked to the Gunners this summer with the deal expected to be completed at the end of the season.
Partey who has a buyout clause of 45 million pounds has been kingpin for the La Liga outfit this season with the likes of Manchester United, PSG and Inter Milan all joining the race for his signature.
When asked about such a move after a game against Southampton, Arteta told reporters: "At the moment, just to predict what is going to happen in the transfer window is impossible.
"You can see one or two clubs doing these sorts of deals, but the rest are really, really quiet.
"As I told, we have to assess the financial situation and whether we have a very narrow gap or a bigger gap to do any deals.
"So I think we are going to have to wait for another four to six weeks to see what we are able to do," he added.
