BROKEN
Once whole, now I'm broken.
All my kindness and innocence stolen.
For your love I developed a fracture,
my heart was once whole and tender,
till you came and ripped it apart.
I once compared you to the moon,
an error that has led me to this doom.
Once whole, now I'm broken.
All my kindness and innocence stolen.
I submitted to you eternal commitment,
In return, you handed out a cruel punishment,
Stamping upon my loyalty as if it were a rag,
while flaunting your betrayal in a brag.
Once whole, now I'm broken.
All my kindness and innocence stolen.
I'm unable to love in all honesty,
for the pain of your betrayal lingers like prophecy.
I now trash out promises like saying good morning
for I'm always in a state of mourning...
mourning my fractured heart like one would a dead good cat.
Once whole, now I'm broken.
All my kindness and innocence stolen.
Like a wet bird, I struggle to stay focused,
shifting from one female arms to another.
Each day into doom I edge further,
for I find solace in the bosom of alcohols
leaving memories on motel halls
And counting on God and time
to deliver me from this self murder.
Once whole, now I'm broken.
