A SAD FALL

How do I put this right?
What I feel ain't pains, but shock,
that you could do what you did and not feel remorse,
wondering if your heart is born of flesh or rock,
for the words that fell off your lips gives me pause,
Even your attitude crippled my walk.
You were as cold as ice,
lying so easily while gazing into my eyes,
your lack of emotions shook me to the core,
as you crashed my heart like you'll a mole on a floor.

How do I put this right?
You whom I loved beyond myself,
sacrificed my all to put a smile on your face,
treasured you like a novel on a shelf,
tenderly nurtured you with grace.
I likened you to a goddess,
with dreams of forging you beyond a mistress,
but like a shadow scared by light,
into the arms of another you took flight,
leaving me with emotions as dark as night.

How do I put this right?
Was I wrong to fall in love with you?
Was there something I should and didn't do?
Was there a secret ambition?
Or could you have been a victim of lust and infatuation...
And I the bearer of its consequential situation?

You left without a genuine confession,
without which there will be no redemption,
and the last time I checked,
you've lost that spark that drove my passion.

How do I put this right?
It's so sad that we've lost it all;
the joy, the laughter, the love, the jokes, the trust, and even the friendship,
for you so cruelly dragged us, to this sad fall.

How could you... be so cruel?
