In the Decade ago you stood before us as GOLD
But now you are standing before us as DIAMOND
You have made us who we are today
And you helped your equals to be emancipated
Now at 60 you are shining like a DIAMOND

Through your illustrious son Kwame Nkrumah
Independence spread like wildfire in Africa
Through your noble son Kofi Anan
The World was once ruled with equity
And through your visitation with Nelson Mandela
He was imprisoned for the liberation of South Africa
Oh! Ghana at 60

Ghana! You are the gateway to Africa
Ghana! You are the mouthpiece of Africa
Ghana! You are the political beacon in Africa
Ghana! You are the first country to be liberated in Africa
Oh Ghana! You are the only country like a DIAMOND in Africa
