The Uncertain Fate Of A Mother Hen's Eggs

A mother hen wishes her eggs will hatch
Into buzzy, beautiful chicks.
Though she scrupulously safeguards her special eggs,
Shielding them from harm,
Fate remains uncertain.

Who decides the fate of these eggs?
Which will be granted the gift of life?
Which will succumb to fate?
Amidst this tragedy in the mother hen's life,
Does she have a say?
Or do the eggs themselves possess any power to dictate their own fate?

Fear of the unknown,
The weight of uncertainties and unpredictabities
Could undoubtedly undermine her from laying eggs.
Yet, it does not.
Undeterred by the mysteries of fate
The mother hen presses on.
Laying egg after egg
Without knowledge of their future,
Or the forces that shape their destiny.
