Nigerian rapper Tochukwu Ojogwu, known as Odumodublvck, has expressed his deep respect for Afrobeats heavyweights Burna Boy, Wizkid, and Davido, highlighting the difficulty of maintaining a long run of hit songs.
He shared this thought during an episode of the Tea With Tay podcast.
The 'Declan Rice' crooner noted that securing even a single hit song is a monumental task, stating that some artistes never achieve that feat throughout their entire careers.
He explained that this intense pressure to deliver a hit is the reason some artists experience emotional breakdowns when their efforts fall short.
Odumodublvck emphasized that the ability of Burna Boy, Wizkid, and Davido to consistently drop chart-topping records for years is a feat that demands ultimate respect.
He said:
"Getting a hit song is not easy. Sometimes people even do jazz to get one. That is why you see some artists crashing out when they struggle to get a hit."
"Burna Boy, Wizkid and Davido have been dropping hit songs consistently for years."
"You have to respect that. Some artistes never get a hit song throughout their careers."
