I Miss You, My Son – Dbanj Pays Tribute To Late Daniel Jr.

Afrobeats star Oladapo Daniel Oyebanjo, widely known as D'banj, has penned an emotional tribute to his late son, Daniel Oyebanjo III.

Taking to his X handle, the Koko master expressed his profound sense of loss, stating that he misses his son deeply and cannot imagine the depth of pain his mother feels.

He noted that the family is now in a safe space, thanking his son for being the family’s star boy.

D'banj revealed that he, his son's mother, brother, and sister are all in a safe space, expressing confidence that his late son is proud of them.

He thanked the toddler for showing him what life truly is as a whole, asking him to say hello to his Uncle Femi and telling him that Daddy loves him especially.

He wrote:

"I miss you, Daniel D3rd, my son and trust me, I can’t imagine how your mother feels, but we are in a Safe Space now. THANK YOU… Omo Baba Eh, our family’s star boy."

"But thank you, I’m in a Safe space, and so are your mother, your brother, and your sister. I’m sure you are proud of us. Thank you for showing me what life really is as a WHOLE"

"Say hi to your Uncle Femi, tell him I miss him too."

"Daddy loves you especially."

Daniel Jr. died on June 24, 2018, at 13 months old after drowning in a swimming pool at the family's residence in Ikoyi, Lagos. D'banj was reportedly away in Los Angeles for an award at the time.
