Nollywood actress Mercy Aigbe has expressed her displeasure over the way online bloggers are handling the death of late gospel singer Olayemi Bolaji, widely known as Toluwanisings.

In a post shared on her Instagram page, she questioned if society has lost its sense of humanity and compassion.

Aigbe lamented that at a time when the family of the deceased should be allowed to grieve in peace, clout-chasing bloggers are conducting interviews that only fuel conflicts.

The Nigerian Voice recalls that Toluwanisings passed away on October 14, 2026, and a Night of Tributes was held in his honour in Ibadan on Tuesday, October 27. However, his death has sparked heated debates online over where he should be buried, as his wife reportedly does not want him laid to rest in their matrimonial home, while his family opposes burying him in a cemetery.

Reflecting on the controversy, the award-winning actress noted that a young man has died in his prime, leaving behind a grieving wife and two young children, yet his family disagreement has become public entertainment.

She stressed that not every situation needs a microphone or an audience, and sometimes the most humane thing to do is to put the camera down and allow the family the dignity and privacy to navigate their grief.

She wrote:
"Not every tradegy needs an audience. Sometimes, people simply need the space to grieve."

"Have we lost our sense of humanity? What happened to compassion?"

"A young man has died in his prime, leaving behind a grieving wife and two very young children."

"At a time when this family should be allowed to grieve in peace, clout-chasing bloggers are conducting interviews that only seem to fuel the conflict between the bereaved wife and her husband’s family."

"Must everything become content? Must every family disagreement become public entertainment?"

"A woman has just lost her husband. Two children have lost their father. Whatever disagreements exist, can we allow this family some dignity and privacy to navigate their grief?"

"Not every situation needs a microphone. Not every conflict needs an audience. And not every tragedy should become an opportunity for engagement."

"Sometimes, the most humane thing you can do is put the camera down!!!!!!!!!"
