Nollywood actress Kemi Afolabi has cautioned the public against celebrating the suffering or death of others.
In a post shared on her Instagram page on Friday, she described such behaviour as diabolical.
The Yoruba actress maintained that everyone is destined to die, making it wrong to find joy in another person's misfortune.
She wrote:
"We all are gonna bite the dust. Your jubilation over another’s afflictions or death is diabolical.."
The Nigerian Voice recalls that Kemi Afolabi is currently battling lupus, an incurable autoimmune disease where the body's immune system attacks its own organs and tissues. She first made her condition public in early 2022 during an emotional interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo.
Prior to her diagnosis, she endured a painful series of misdiagnoses at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital while dealing with excruciating joint pains, which she described as more intense than childbirth.
The actress currently undergoes strict treatment conditions, which include avoiding bright light. According to her, this condition has affected her ability to work under standard film lighting.
