Veteran Nollywood actor Jide Kosoko has opened up about the demanding nature of working with filmmaker Funke Akindele, revealing that she is a perfectionist who accepts nothing but the best.
He shared this during a recent interview on the African A-List podcast.
Kosoko described Akindele as incredibly hardworking, noting that her energy is unmatched, even when compared to a man. According to him, her relentless drive often means an actor might have to shoot a single scene up to fifteen times just to get it right.
He also recalled how she might return to set the following day, ready to move on to new scenes, only to insist that previous scenes must be reshot because she was unhappy with certain details.
Kosoko admitted that whenever she calls him for job, he is always scared, as her standard for excellence is exceptionally high.
He said:
"Funke is very hardworking, even if you are a man you can't match her energy. She is left-handed. Whenever Funke calls me for a job I am always scared, you can shoot a scene 15 times."
"And She may come the following day thinking of shooting another scene, but then she will say 'We have to shoot those scenes again because of the plates they brought.'"
