Eniola Badmus Apologises Over Podcast Reaction, Laide Bakare Dismisses Apology

Nollywood actress and politician Eniola Badmus has tendered a public apology to her colleague, Laide Bakare, over her reaction during a recent appearance on Isbae U's 'Curiosity Made Me Ask' podcast.

Badmus recently stirred controversy after a clip from the podcast went viral, showing her making a facial expression when the host Isbae U mentioned Bakare as one of his favourite actresses.

Addressing the controversy on her Instagram page on Tuesday, Badmus admitted that her reaction may have been perceived as dismissive and offered a sincere apology for how it came across. She also expressed a desire for peace, stating that she genuinely wishes Bakare well regardless of their differences.

The movie star further reflected on personal growth, noting that people are constantly learning and evolving. She described maturity as the ability to know when to release a situation and move forward, emphasizing her choice to avoid negativity and grudges.

She wrote:
"On reflection, I realise my reaction when Laide Bakare's name was mentioned during my recent interview could have come across as dismissive, and for that, I sincerely apologise."

The apology follows Bakare's earlier strong criticism of Badmus online, where she accused her of trying to damage her character and called her an ingrate.

Following Badmus' statement, Bakare took to Instagram to dismiss the apolgy, describing it as "fake".
