Nigerian content creator, actor, and activist Debo Adedayo, popularly known as Mr Macaroni, has expressed deep concern over the current state of the nation, noting that citizens are more divided now than ever.
He made this known in a post shared on his Instagram page today, while marking the sixth anniversary of the EndSARS protests.
Sharing clips from the 2020 protest, Mr Macaroni lamented that six years after the historic movement, Nigerians are still battling insecurity, hunger, poverty, poor healthcare, and high levels of corruption and impunity.
He emphasized that the most painful aspect is the division among the people at a time when unity is most needed.
He urged citizens to one day realize their collective power and stop allowing a few selfish individuals to destroy the prosperity of the majority.
He wrote:
"6 Years Later! We are still dealing with Insecurity, hunger, poverty, lack of proper health care and the highest level of corruption and impunity. The saddest part is that we are even more divided as a people at a time when we should be most united."
"I hope one day we truly realize the power that we have as citizens and stop allowing a few selfish individuals destroy the success and prosperity of the majority of us."
"Till then."
