Veteran Nollywood actor Yinka Quadri has explained why he continues to commend President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's administration, citing personal experiences and developmental efforts across the South-West.
He made this known during an appearance on the African A-List interview, where he recalled how Tinubu came through for the movie industry during difficult moments.
Quadri recounted that when the late actress Moji Olaiya died, he and colleagues including Fathia Balogun and Yomi Fabiyi tried to bring her remains back from abroad. He noted hoe they went to Bourdillon to seek support, and Tinubu asked for the cost and paid the sum of $25,000.
He also recalled that the President settled the medical bills of the late comic actor Babatunde Omidina, known as Baba Suwe, during his illness.
The veteran actor pointed to infrastructure development in the South-West, referencing the Papalanto-Sagamu road and the Sagamu-Ijebu-Ode road, noting that although more remains to be done, the efforts deserve recognition.
He also listed pension payments to retirees and the Nigerian Education Loan Fund as positive steps taken by the administration, adding that while these are not enough, he still praises the President.
He said:
"When Moji Olaiya died, I, Fathia Balogun, Yomi Fabiyi and others were trying to bring her back from abroad. We went to Bourdillon to seek financial support. He asked us for the cost and paid it. It was a total of $25,000."
"I know it is not enough, but I praise him."
Yinka Quadri and his colleagues, including Jide Kosoko, Fausat Balogun, and Femi Adebayo, have consistently declared their support for President Tinubu's administration and are also involved in the campaign for his second term.
