Nigerian disc jockey Florence Otedola, popularly known as DJ Cuppy, has opened up about her journey from seeking validation to finding peace.
In a video message shared on social media, the daughter of billionaire businessman Femi Otedola reflected on how desperate she once was for relevance at the start of her career.
DJ Cuppy admitted that she craved clout and was afraid of not being important, but she has now reached a place of peace.
She referenced the Bible verse, Galatians 1:10, explaining that she lives her life to please God rather than people, and that the approach has been working for her. She declared that she no longer cares what people think.
"I was so desperate for validation at the start of my career. I wanted to be relevant. I was scared of not being important. I craved clout. And now I'm just in a place of peace. It reminds me of a verse in the Bible, 1st Galatians 10, which says Really and truly, am I trying to please people, or am I actually trying to please God because if I were people-pleasing, I would not be a servant of Christ, and so that is how I live my life. Yeah, it's working out for me. I no longer care what people think."
