Nollywood actress Omowunmi Dada has opened up about a past relationship she ended due to religious differences.

The movie star made the disclosure in an interview with media personality VJ Adams, recounting how she dated a man who was a Christian when they met, but later began fasting during Ramadan.

Dada explained that when she asked why he was fasting, he told her it was to make his mother happy, adding that being a Muslim was what would please her. She said that was the moment she knew she could not be with him.

She made it clear that she has nothing against Muslims and has Muslim friends who are wonderful people, but for the kind of family she wants to raise, she would prefer to raise her children in the Christian faith and to be united with her husband in one faith.

She said:
"I dated someone who, when I met him, was a Christian, and then sometime later Ramadan started, and he said he was fasting. I said, 'Why?' and he said, 'Because that is what will make his mom happy.' He said being a Muslim is what will make his mom happy. Right then, I knew I couldn't be with him."

"I have nothing against Muslims; I have Muslim friends who are amazing people, by the way. But for the kind of family that I want to raise, I would love to raise my children the Christian way. I want to be able to hold hands with my husband in one faith, in unity as a family."
