"He Was Very Humorous" – Pete Edochie Churns Out Tribute To Olu Jacobs

Veteran Nollywood actor Pete Edochie has paid an emotional tribute to his late friend and colleague, Olu Jacobs, describing him as a man who fought bravely till the end.

In a video shared online, Edochie mourned the passing of the legendary actor and commiserated with his wife, actress Joke Silva, over the years she stood by him during his illness.

Edochie noted that Jacobs was a humorous personality and a peaceful colleague who created a life known only to him, Joke Silva, and himself. He encouraged Joke Silva to take heart and celebrate the life Olu lived, noting that of all his senior colleagues who have passed, Olu was the only one who lived beyond 80.

He also expressed hope that one of the late actor's children would take to acting so that they would always be reminded of what their father meant to the industry. He ended his tribute with a heartfelt farewell, saying that if people recognise themselves after death, there is a possibility they will meet again.

He said:
"Olu, my brother, he fought like a man. He fought like the soldier I have always known him to be. Rest in peace. Joke, I commiserate with you over what you've been dealing with for the past six years. He was a humorous personality and a peaceful colleague. He was very humorous; he created a life known only to him, Joke, and me. Joke, you did your best; though Olu has gone, be glad and celebrate Olu's life."

"Of all my senior colleagues who have gone, Olu was the only one who got beyond 80. If God says it's time, then it's time. My only prayer is that one of Olu's children takes to acting, so whenever we look at him, we will remember what Olu meant to all of us. Olu was our movie senior, and he treated everybody he interacted with that way. Joke, I want you to remember Olu's words, and take heart. Olu, if it's true that people recognise themselves after death, then there is a possibility we will meet again."
