Maybe They Are Not Important – Obasanjo Says He Doesn't Know Don Jazzy, Carter Efe, Poco Lee

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has opened up on not having knowledge of some of Nigeria's top entertainers, adding that they may not be in the category of "important people" he is expected to know.

Obasanjo made this known while speaking during an appearance on content creator Isbae U's podcast, 'Curiosity Made Me Ask', in an episode released on Saturday, September 19.

The host Isbae U quizzed the former president onif he was familiar with certain popular figures in the entertainment space, including Carter Efe, Poco Lee. In response, Obasanjo maintained that he has no idea of who they are. He, however clarified that the personalities he is familiar with are different from those the host rolls with.

Isbae U also noted that the entertainers might still know the former president even if he does not know them. Obasanjo responded with a joke, suggesting that they may not be important people, which explains why he does not know them. He then flipped the conversation, telling the comedian that he knows Queen Elizabeth, whom Isbae U does not know, and also asked if he knew King Charles. When the comedian said he had heard of him, Obasanjo replied that he knows him.

The conversation between the duo is as follows:
Bae U: "Do you know Carter Efe?
Obasanjo: "I don't know."
Bae U: " Do you know Poco Lee?"
Obasanjo: " No."
Bae U: " Do you know Don Jazzy?
Obasanjo exclaimed: "Ha."
Bae U further quizzed: "So, you know people that… That I don't know."

Obasanjo responded: "Ah, well, maybe because they no be important people, that's why. That's why the people you know, I don't know."

"Now I tell you, I know Queen Elizabeth. You say you don't know Queen Elizabeth."

"Do you know King Charles?
Bae U responded: "I've heard of him. I know him."
