Veteran actress Omotunde Ogundimu has penned a heartfelt gratitude note to Nollywood star Funke Akindele for her financial support towards her cervical cancer treatment.
In a post shared on her Instagram page on Thursday, Omotunde revealed that the first call she received that morning was from Funke, which came as a pleasant surprise.
The Yoruba actress disclosed that Akindele gave her a substantial amount of money to support her treatment, and she urged her followers to pray for the actress.
She praised Funke for her generosity, describing her as a blessing.
She wrote:
"The first call I got this morning was from Funke. I was really surprised cos I wasn't expecting it. Chaii! God is just too good to me."
"Pls help me pray for Funke Akindele for blessing me this morning towards my cancer treatment; she gave me a huge amount of money ni. Iya Ibeji, God will never forsake you, Laila. You will forever continue to grow from strength to strength."
Omotunde had previously opened up about her health challenges in an emotional interview with colleague Biola Bayo in July, where she appealed to Nigerians for support and revealed that she has been battling cervical cancer since 2024.
