I Was Scared When I First Came To Lagos – Fireboy DML

Nigerian singer Adedamola Oyinlola Adefolahan, best known as Fireboy DML, has opened up about his first experience in Lagos, revealing that he was terrified by the environment.

Speaking during a recent livestream, the YBNL signee recalled arriving in Surulere in 2016 and being struck by how red and scary people's eyes looked.

Fireboy shared that within two weeks of his arrival, he witnessed someone run mad, saw dead bodies, and encountered cultists. He noted that he now looks like those same scary people he once feared.

He said:
"I was so scared the first time I came to Lagos in 2016, in Surulere. People's eyes were so red, and they looked scary. In two weeks, I saw someone run mad, dead bodies and cultists. Now, I also look like those scary people."

Fireboy graduated with a degree in English Language from Obafemi Awolowo University in 2017.

He gained mainstream fame in 2018 and 2019 after signing with Olamide's YBNL Nation and releasing his breakthrough hit single "Jealous," followed by his debut album 'Laughter, Tears and Goosebumps'.
