Faithia Williams Pays Emotional Tribute To 'Ogogo' At Fidau Prayer

Nollywood actress Faithia Williams has paid a heartfelt tribute to the late veteran actor Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, describing him as a mentor and a pillar of support.

Speaking at the actor's eight-day Fidau prayer held on Monday in Ilaro, Ogun State, she recounted how Ogogo welcomed her warmly when she returned from London to join the Nigerian movie industry.

Faithia described Ogogo as honest, peaceful, and irreplaceable.

She said:
"Ogogo wasn't just a boss to me; he was someone who contributed greatly to my person when I came back from London to join Nigerians at Odunfa. He was there for me, and I was greatly and warmly welcomed. He was honest, peaceful and irreplaceable."

The 8-day Fidau prayer for the late actor drew a large gathering of family, friends, and colleagues, including Yinka Quadri, Jide Kosoko, Adebayo Salami (Oga Bello), Odunlade Adekola, Isbae U, Mr Latin, Alhaja Salawa Abeni, Baba Ajobiewe, Yemi Elesho, Jigan Baba Oja, Segun Ogungbe, amongst others.

Refreshing your memory, The Nigerian Voice recalls that Ogogo's daughters, Lima and Kira Taiwo recently made an emotional appeal on Instagram, seeking help for their father's treatment after he was diagnosed with stage-four cancer.

They had revealed that hospitals had refused to treat him and begged for anyone who could provide medical or spiritual assistance. His close friend and colleague,

Yinka Quadri, had also been deeply affected by his illness, staying in constant contact with the family and offering support.

'Ogogo' passed away on Sunday, August 23 at 3:00 pm at the age of 66, according to a statement issued by his colleague, Jide Kosoko. He was buried on Monday in his hometown of Ilaro, Ogun State, following Islamic rites.

His death has since sent shockwaves through the entertainment industry, with colleagues and fans paying tribute to the veteran actor.
