Nigerian singer Afolarin Odunlami, professionally known as Fola, has fulfilled a long-standing promise to his mother by gifting her a car and the land on which she built her church.
The emotional moment was shared on social media, where the 'Alone' crooner reflected on his journey.
Fola recalled asking his mother what she wanted when things began to align for him. She expressed her desire for her own church building and a specific car. He expressed gratitude to God for enabling him to fulfill both requests.
He wrote:
"When things started to align, I randomly asked my mother what she wanted, and she said she wanted her own church building and this specific car. I thank God for keeping this running long enough for me to say I've done both things."
Earlier in his career, Fola had used his first major earnings from music to purchase a piece of land in Ibadan, where his mother subsequently built a church.
The singer came into the limelight following the release of his breakout hit single "Alone," featuring BhadBoi OML, on July 12, 2024. He is currently signed to Dangbana Republik and EMPIRE.
