Veteran Nollywood actress Patience Ozokwor, popularly known as Mama G, has shared her candid views on parenting, cautioning against overprotecting children.
In a recent post, she argued that shielding children from every struggle could ultimately ruin them.
Mama G explained that while parents should not deliberately expose their children to suffering, they must allow them to go through the process of struggle.
She noted that pampering children prevents them from becoming anything meaningful.
She also revealed that she made it clear to her son that her house is not his and that he must work for his own.
She wrote:
"When you say, 'I don't want my children to suffer what I suffered when I was growing up', you see, that's the best way to destroy your children. I'm not saying allow them to suffer, what I'm saying is allow them to struggle. Go through the process. But when you pamper them, they don't come out to be anything. Keep the things that you have and let them know that you go get yours, this is mine. I told my son, my house isn't yours, go and work for your own."
