Bose Ogulu, mother and manager of Afrobeats superstar Burna Boy, has opened up about how she manages her son's unpredictable moments on social media.
In an interview with Ebuka Obi-Uchendu on Channels TV, she disclosed that she often grabs his phone when he gets carried away during Instagram Live sessions.
Ogulu explained that she has learned to balance allowing him to be himself while also stepping in when necessary. She described artists like her son as delicate, noting that pulling too hard on any part of their personality could cause everything to fall apart.
She also revealed that while she gives him room to express himself, she intervenes by taking his phone when he goes wild.
She said:
"You can always notice the difference between when I tweet and when Burna tweets. What I've come to learn is that artists like him, they're like a tapestry. If you pull at one thread too hard, everything will unravel."
"So you must make allowances for this person being himself, because it's the same emotion that what you love about him comes from. Within, we do what we can. I usually grab his phone from him anytime he goes wild on Instagram Live."
