Veteran Yoruba actor Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, has been buried today in his hometown of Ilaro, Ogun State, following Islamic rites.
In videos surfacing on social media, family, friends, colleagues were visibly filled with emotions as they gathered to bid farewell to the beloved actor, who passed away at 66.
The funeral ceremony was marked by an outpouring of grief, with one of Ogogo's wives breaking down in tears as she was consoled by other women.
The actor's remains were carried to the gravesite by family and associates, accompanied by solemn prayers.
His longtime friend and colleague, Yinka Quadri, was filled with tears, and had to be comforted by fellow actors.
Other industry heavyweights present included Jide Kosoko, Femi Adebayo, Faithia Balogun, Ireti Osayemi, Madam Saje, Mr Latin, Toyosi Adesanya, and Bisi Omo Logbalogba, amongst others.
The Nigerian Voice recalls that Ogogo passed away on Sunday at 3:00 pm after a battle with cancer. His daughters had previously made a public appeal on social media for help in securing treatment for him.
His death has sent shockwaves through the entertainment industry, with tributes pouring in from fans and colleagues alike.
