Nigerian singer and songwriter John Ighodaro, popularly known as Johnny Drille, has opened up about his relationship and marriage to his longtime partner.
In a recent interview, he revealed that he met his wife while signed to Mavins Record, crediting the label and Don Jazzy for playing a role in bringing them together.
The singer shared that they started dating in late 2018 and kept their relationship private for about five years. He noted that the public only got to know about them in July 2023, by which time they were already married.
According to him, it wasn't easy keeping their love story under wraps, but he is grateful for how it all turned out.
He wrote:
"I met my wife at Mavins. I think about it now and how much work we had to put into keeping it under wraps for so long. We started dating in November/December 2018, and the rest of the world got to know in July 2023. And that's probably five years after, and by then, we had already gotten married. It wasn't easy keeping it under wraps, but I am grateful."
