"He Was My Father And Mother" – 'Ogogo's' Wife Mourns

Ajoke Taiwo, the first wife of late veteran actor Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, has described her husband as a caring and loving man who was her everything.

In an interview, she opened up about her grief, saying the loss is a wound that can never heal.

Ajoke, who was married to Ogogo for over 30 years, recounted how they met in the movie industry but she later quit acting to focus on raising their children.

She described him as a father and mother to her, someone who stood by her during trials and hated to see her sad.

She said:
"I am Ajoke Taiwo, the first wife of Ogogo. He was a very good man, a caring husband and he truly loved me. He was like a father and mother to me. He stood by me during the times of trial. He was my everything. What God took from me is so big and it really hurts me but I can't question Him. This is a wound that can never heal. He never wanted me to get angry at him. Whenever I get extremely angry, he used to land at the hospital because he would be so hurt."

Refreshing your memory, The Nigerian Voice recalls that Ogogo's daughters, Lima and Kira Taiwo, had made an emotional appeal on Instagram last Monday, seeking help for their father's treatment after he was diagnosed with stage-four cancer.

They had revealed that hospitals had refused to treat him and begged for anyone who could provide medical or spiritual assistance. His close friend and colleague,

Yinka Quadri, had also been deeply affected by his illness, staying in constant contact with the family and offering support.

'Ogogo' passed away on Sunday at 3:00 pm at the age of 66, according to a statement issued by his colleague, Jide Kosoko. He was buried on Monday in his hometown of Ilaro, Ogun State, following Islamic rites.

His death has since sent shockwaves through the entertainment industry, with colleagues and fans paying tribute to the veteran actor.
