Legendary Nigerian singer Innocent Ujah Idibia, better known as 2Baba, is preparing to add another project to his decades-long career with the announcement of a new album titled 'Oldest Young Man'.
The singer revealed the forthcoming project on Instagram, using a reflective message that appeared to capture his journey, survival and continued relevance in the Nigerian music scene.
2Baba, who has remained active in the industry for more than two decades, did not provide a release date or disclose details about the album’s tracklist.
He wrote:
“I’ve lived it. I’ve seen it. I’m still here. My new album, Oldest Young Man, is coming soon.”
The title 'Oldest Young Man' appears to play on the contrast between his veteran status and his continued presence in an industry that has undergone significant changes since he began his career.
His musical journey dates back to his days with Plantashun Boiz before he launched his solo career and released 'Face 2 Face' in 2004. The album produced his internationally recognised hit 'African Queen' and established him as one of the defining voices of Nigerian pop music.
2Baba's last studio album, 'Warriors', was released in 2020, with his latest announcement marking a further addition to his musical catalogue.
