Nigerian reality star and entrepreneur Terseer Kiddwaya Waya, popularly known as Kiddwaya, has stirred controversy with a claim that Nigeria would have experienced better development if the British had extended their colonial rule.
The ex-BBNaija housemate took to his X handle (formerly Twitter) to drop his take, expressing what he described as an "unpopular opinion" on the country's colonial history.
Kiddwaya suggested that an additional 10 to 15 years of British rule would have led to greater progress in Nigeria.
He wrote on X:
"Unpopular opinion. The British should have stayed in Nigeria for 10/15 more years. You go see better development."
Kiddwaya's statement has since sparked mixed reactions online, with many Nigerians questioning his perspective on colonialism and its impact on the country's development.
Nigeria gained independence from Britain in 1960 following years of control and domination.
