Veteran Nollywood actor Richard Mofe-Damijo, popularly known as RMD, has opened up about his romantic side, revealing that he once handed over his first ₦100 million cheque to his wife, Jumobi.
Speaking on The Morayo Show, the 65-year-old actor described himself as an incurable romantic, saying he enjoys giving gifts because it is his wife's love language.
RMD recalled that when he received the cheque, he instructed his manager to pass it to his wife. When she asked if it was for the children, he told her to keep it for herself. He jokingly added that he knows most of it would eventually be spent on the children anyway. He also noted that all the beautiful things in their home belong to his wife.
He said:
"I'm an incurable romantic. These days, it isn't about flowers and chocolates anymore because ladies like money."
"The first biggest cheque I ever received was for ₦100 million. When it was presented to me, I told my manager to give it to my wife. When she got it, she asked if I wanted her to keep it for the children. I told her no, that she should keep it for herself and do whatever she wanted with it."
"The trick is that I know 90 per cent of the money will eventually end up being spent on the children. I like giving my wife the biggest things I have so she never has to ask for anything. All the big and beautiful things in the house are hers."
