Nigerian TikTok creator Amadou Elizabeth Aminata, popularly known as Jarvis, has offered marital advice to her followers ahead of her white wedding with fellow TikTok star Peller.
She cautioned young Nigerians against succumbing to societal pressure to marry before they are financially prepared.
Speaking during a livestream, Jarvis advised couples to consider holding their traditional and white weddings in different years to ease the financial burden.
She warned against marrying without sufficient funds, adding that while she and Peller nearly postponed their own wedding, they came to realize that no amount of planning would ever make them feel fully ready.
She said:
"If you don't have money, don't get married. Don't try it, I beg you.
"But if you are planning of getting married, you can share it by doing traditional wedding this year and do the white wedding the next year.
"We almost postponed our wedding, but even if we put it in the next 50 years, we are never going to prepare for the wedding."
