The Member of Parliament for Kwabre East Hon Francisca Oteng Mensah has donated food items worth thousands of Ghana cedis to her constituents to help mitigate the impact of the covid-19 partial lockdown.

The items include rice, oil, tomatoes and PPEs such as hand sanitizers, nose masks and hand gloves.

The items were presented to the assembly members from each electoral area within her jurisdiction for onward distribution to the entire communities.

The MP recounted the relevance of reaching out to her constituents in these difficult times to help combat covid-19 in the country.

"I really take delight in giving back to the needy, most especially, those in my constituency who made me who I am today," she stated.

She opined that it's the little she can do to assist in relieving some burdens of her people indicating that, "all expenses is not from the MP's common fund but rather from my own coffers."

Hon Francisca Mensah who is also a member of the Trade, Industry and Tourism Committee and Privileges Committee at Parliament commended the people of Kwabre East for adhering to all safety protocols to minimize any spread of covid-19 in the area.

The Municipal Chief Executive for the Constituency, Hon. Nana Osei Assibey Bonsu, after receiving the items on behalf of the assembly members and the constituents thanked the MP for the kind gesture.

He called on other people and philanthropists to replicate the kind gesture of the MP.
