NPP Primaries: "I Will Promote Scholarships For Our Children To Study"

Ghana's Ambassador to India, His Excellency Dr. Mike Oquaye Jnr has revealed that he will provide scholarships for youths in the Dome Kwabenya Constituency to study when voted as Member of Parliament (MP) in the upcoming NPP Parliamentary primaries on April 25.

According to him, although some youths are being sponsored currently, he will ensure the numbers are increased.

Delivering his manifesto after filing his nomination forms, the Ambassador said: "Already, some have been sponsored to Colleges in India, USA, UK, Serbia, Japan and China among others."

Speaking on Education, H. E. Mike Ocquaye Jnr mentioned that a scheme will be devised to improve school infrastructure in the Constituency.

He added that evening and special classes scheme for the youth will also be introduced.

"Our results here should be improved as those who care will know. We will not sit idle and wait till it is late," he noted.

The Ambassador stressed that common funds and other resources will be applied to the scheme.

Touching on the physically challenged, he noted that he will promote their welfare through job placements. "Two were found jobs last year and they will be trained in ICT at the Computer School which will be revived."

On fire safety, Dr. Michael Oquaye Jnr promised delegates a fire service station to be built in the Constituency adding that the police station on the Taifa stretch will be expanded.

"Fire Service will be brought here for our security and more Police posts will also be established," he said.

He further revealed that there will be a Constituency Policy Formulation Conference to gather views from all relevant persons "All Constituencies Offices, Electoral Area Coordinators, Polling Station Executives, as well as youth, physically challenged among others, will be involved."

On health, he assured that another health clinic will be built in the Constituency. "I will work on the Taifa Clinic which was designed for three floors."

H. E. Mike Oquaye Jnr was confident that health for all projects in Dome Kwabenya Constituency will be launched.
