We know that this is the way to go if Ghana – and by extension – Africa will develop.”

After the establishment of the Centre for Entrepreneurship Philanthropy and Ethics (CEPE) on March 17, 2019, which is a unit of HCC and promotes the core value of HCC, it has enabled some students of HCC win awards at the Global Social Innovation Challenge in the United States.

In 2018, Team Charcoal which is made up of 3 HCC students were sponsored to the US for the said award programme and won the grand prize of $15,000 and the Audience Choice Award of $1,500.The Team Plastic – Blocks, also made up of 3 HCC students made it to the top 10 finalists of the worldwide competition in the 2019 edition.

“Don’t aim at mediocre and average performance and service; aim for the best and let all know what you are made of and the training you have received from HCC,” he advised.

The Provost of HCC and Executive Director of CEPE, Williams Abayaawien Atuilik indicated that, “We are an entrepreneurship focused institution. Whilst our students are on campus, we encourage them to come up with business ideas and we support them with money and other resources in terms of how they can organize and nurture their businesses into fruition.”

“We encourage everybody who wants to be an entrepreneur and anchor their learning through technology to apply and be considered for admission,” he concluded.

The winner of the overall Best Student and Best Graduating Student of the Theology department Awards, Francis Brown noted that, “As we leave to continue our lives in the world, we should not lose touch with each other. Technology has provided us the means and therefore let us use it to stay together. The bond we form produces great change to do wonderful things that we cannot do as individuals.”

“The more we do things together as one people, the more significant we will be as maiden graduates of HCC. Irrespective of where we may be, we can make a significant impact on HCC and our society if we all stay bonded and work together as alumni.”
