I have met many believers who think after their Spiritual birth they can settle down and return to their normal behavior as if nothing has happened.
That will be like asking a mother who gives birth to a child to leave the child to grow anyhow by themselves. The result will be very catastrophic and will be of no benefit for the mother to suffer the dangers associated with pregnancy and carrying the baby in her own body for nine agonizing months.
Similarly, God has a good and clear vision which is why He redeem ed mankind His loving part of His creation. So, therefore, the enactment of God's plan of salvation is progressive in time.
God sent His Son at the fullness of the time ( Gal. 4:4 ). The presentation of God's salvation is also progressive in time; the apostles and prophets received and announced the economy ( how to turn around the corrupted human minds and spirits back onto Himself) of the mystery that had been hidden in God throughout the ages (Ephesians 3:9).
And ultimately the experience of God's plan of salvation is progressive in time; we're arriving at the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ (Ephesians 4:13 ). Our faith is in the faithful God, who desires to be fully expressed in an organic Body constituted with the reality of His very being and who gains this goal by speaking words of spirit and life. This has always been His choice for His created human beings.
