Politics In Ghana Today In Relation To Power! 

There is a strong desire for materialism in this country recently, and this no doubt promotes these unfortunate calamities.

Hmmmm! Ever since the savage act orchestrated by Nana Twene and his wife at Abesim Sunyani, in the Brong Ahafo region and the episode of Kofi Kyintoh in the 1980s masterminded by a notorious traditional ruler at Sefwi-Bekwai, killing have been on the ascendancy in this country especially from 2016 through to 2019 where an Investigative

Journalist, Ahmed Suale a member of the Tiger Eye PI was shot dead at Madina few days ago.

The steady rise of these killings has evoked fear in the populace such that wherever pockets of people gather, it is the subject commonly discussed. These savagery has caused many well-meaning Ghanaians to raise concerns as to if attempts have been made by government and security agencies to stamp out these acts.

Admittedly, one factor cannot be singled out as the root cause of these murders but rather; several factors have combined to create these unpleasant situations.

Apart from such people interested in enriching themselves and possessing the comforts of life more than cherishing the fruits of human love, they're preoccupied with immeasurable desire for worldly POWER and SUCCESS.

Most traditional rulers, politicians and those who occupy key and influential positions in our society try in many diverse ways not only to prolong their lives but also to perpetuate their stay in power.

It is therefore not surprising to find traditional rulers, politicians and prominent members of our society spearheading these murders.

Some people, who aspire to attain high positions in society, are also guilty of these ruthless

murders. To obtain their wishes, they take undue advantage of the economic woes of men and women in less fortunate standings and influence them to kill their neighbours for ritual purposes though it will be seen as a criminal case or just a misshapen by some group of individuals.

The eyes of the citizens would be blind to know it is motivated politically and attribute it to either superstitious reasons ora sacrifice.

Even some successful businessmen or women, traditional rulers, politicians and farmers would want to protect themselves and multiply their wealth and power by resorting to ritual murder.

To conclude, I hope and believe religious organizations should join hands and kneels to educate the general public on the ill effects of these ritual murders.

The government should also adopt punitive measures against all those who found indulging in killing though we have a constitution which guides all but seemed to favour some few individuals.

"Never wor y to expect rain whenever there are clouds but rather predict fire where there is smoke".
