The 2018 edition of the Olam Ghana cocoa managers conference climaxed in Accra with a scintillating closing ceremony.

The one-week conference organized for all Olam cocoa managers and supervisors nationwide was under the theme: “Most Admired Business; Building Thriving Communities through Digitalization.”

The managers were taken through a series of activities and events that will enhance and improve Olam Cocoa in the years ahead.

Speaking at the closing ceremony, Business Head at Olam Ghana, Eric Asare Botwe, said the cocoa managers' conference discussed and reviewed the performance of cocoa managers in the last year.

He noted that at the conference, the managers were also trained to deliver value and profitability to shareholders and the cocoa farmer as well.

According to Mr. Asare Botwe Olam Cocoa wants to remain relevant to Ghana's cocoa industry and improve the lot of farmers.

He also revealed that Olam Cocoa Ghana wants to maximize their operation by increasing their production of cocoa beans to 120,000 tonnes.

On his part, Country Head of Olam Ghana, Mr. Amit Agrawal said in 28 years, Olam International has grown from a single product exporter to a global agri-business leader operating from seed to shelf.

He stated that Olam International is in 70 countries in the world, employing 70,000 workers and supplying 23,000 customers worldwide.

Mr. Agrawal further added that Olam cocoa Ghana will strive to go beyond primary and secondary processing and venture into tertiary production using the cocoa beans.

The closing ceremony of the annual Olam cocoa mamagers' conference was attended by industry players including, Paramount Chief of Sefwi, Katakyie Kwasi Bumagama II and Paramount Chief of Wassa Amenfi, Tetrete Okuamoah Sekyem II.

Legend folk musician, Agyaa Koo Nimo treated the gathering to authentic Ghanaian songs.
