I am writing this to prompt parents’ attention about certain bad things that some of our teachers do surreptitiously in our schools which needs drastic measures to address it amicably.
The facts that we acquire training and a skill from teachers does not mean their attitude is crystal clear especially the male teachers. A bit of my research indicates that what triggered students to show lackadaisical approach in erudition is the bad demeanor some teachers in schools exhibit.
Firstly, immoral association. Immoral Association has become rampant in our schools between male teachers and female students. Some teachers shamelessly engage in Immoral Association with some of female students in our schools.
How on earth could teachers who are supposed to teach students about the virtues of life and the need for them to shun away from immoral practices should rather take female students as their girl friends. This shameful practice in no doubt would definitely undermine the efforts of our school authorities to instilled discipline in the students.
Secondly, Favourtism on the part of some teachers has become the order of the day. When it comes to award of marks in the marking of exercises and examination scripts. Some teachers award high marks to some students when exercise are given in class or when exam is conducted just because they are close to those students or because they send such students on errands most of the time in the school. Others do the same for their girlfriends just to please them.
Thirdly, some teachers have habitually been drinking. There are some teachers who drink so heavily that they hardly stand on their feet while teaching. How a teacher could be intoxicated before going to school in the morning to impact knowledge.
I would like to end it here but if drastic measures are not put in place to rectify the shameful practices on the part of some teachers then it is our own brimful cup of tea.
