Ho, Aug. 18, GNA - Togbe Afede XIV, Agbogbomefia of the Asogli State is to pay a 12-day visit to the Peoples Republic of China to woo Chinese entrepreneurs to Ghana, particularly in the Volta Region.
A statement signed by John Kukah, Secretary to the Agbogbome Fia on Wednesday said, during the visit, which begins on August 26, this year, Togbe Afede would also explore markets for Ghanaian goods in China. The statement said Togbe Afede would also seek closer friendship and collaboration between the people of the Volta Region and China and possibly strike a twin city relationship deal between Ho, the regional capital and a Chinese city.
Togbe Afede, a Financial Broker in private life is expected to visit "many places of interest, especially those which are of cultural significance in Beijing, Shanghai and Shenzhen, during the visit. The visit is among many and varied programmes being pursued by Togbe Afede to raise economic activities in the Volta Region, which currently has only one middle level industry, Diamond Cement Ghana Limited (DCGL), operating at Aflao.
Other programmes include an investment forum at which stakeholders in business development will brainstorm on how to increase investments in the region.
