Zanetor Rawlings Donates School Desks To Schools At Osu

At a short ceremony on Tuesday at Osu Salem, the Member of Parliament for the Klottey Korley Constituency, Dr. Zanetor Rawlings donated 190 school desks (combi) to some selected and needy cluster of schools in her jurisdiction.

Schools that will benefit from this donation which is the second this year from the honorable member include, Osu Salem Presby JHS, Osu Salem 1 Basic, Osu Presby Primary Boys Sch, Osu St. Thomas Pri. Sch, Ringway Basic Sch.St. Banabas Basic Sch and St. Peters Basic Sch.

Other beneficiary schools are: Teacher Mota/ Eddie Laryea Basic Sch., Presby 2 Boys JHS, Osu Presby 1 , KG, Primary and Girls JHS as well as Osu Presby KG Annex.

According to Dr Rawlings, for the children to have sound mind and have a wholistic education at school, they must have chairs and tables to sit on but not on the floor.

She humbly appealed to cooperate institutions in the constituency to help the schools with additional tables and chairs.

The gesture, she said, is one of many they have planned to carry out in stages.

She went on to state that it is also the task of the Ghana Education Service to help solve these logistics problem but it's not the sole responsibility of the MP as it has been the case for Klottey Korley Constituency.

Due to the free SHS system some of these schools have more students than they can naturally absorb, yet infrastructure has neither seen a face lift nor been supplemented.

Dr Rawlings tasked both the teachers and the students to take good care of anything donated to them to encourage other people to do same.
