The Founding President and Chief Executive Officer of Community and Entrepreneurial Development Initiativecommonly known as CEDI Ghana, Mr. Kingsley Kwaku Pinkrah has won the Social Entrepreneur Category of the 40 Under 40 Awards.

It was organized to identify, honour and celebrate a cross-section of Ghana influential and accomplished young business leaders under the age of 40.

The award based the nominations on the commitment to business growth, professional excellence and community service.

After beating off stiff competition from various social enterprises, he won the most influential and outstanding social entrepreneur of the year.

Mr. Pinkrah was been recognized for his contribution to national development. He has over the years been providing free entrepreneurship training and mentorship to the unemployed youth and graduates of Ghana.

He is well known for as a public speaker who discusses development issues both on television and radio, a community advocator, a social entrepreneur and social researcher.

This year 2017, he organized international symposium for foreign diplomats, government ministers, academicians and business expert in Ghana under the theme, “Youth Unemployment, A call for Action” which proposed possible solution to the Government of Ghana for consideration.

Last year 2016, he organized Entrepreneurship for Peace project which promoted peace in our presidential election, provided free entrepreneurship training and skills, funding, networking and mentorship opportunities to 1,000 youth.

In 2015, he was a speaker for STARS conference organized by Peace Corps Ghana at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi and was also a speaker at Rock Your World Entrepreneurship Conferenceorganized by Syenet at Spiritan University, Kumasi – Ghana which promoted leadership and entrepreneurship in the country.

As a Global Shaper with Kumasi hub of the World Economic Forum, together with other members, he has helped create jobs for 50 street youth and disabled through recycling plastic waste and currently campaigning on Visa free Africa and Internet for All.

The Community and Entrepreneurial Development Initiative is a group of university lecturers and top government officials from all political parties who have come together to promote national development. Development areas they promote include skills and capacity building, fighting against poverty and unemployment, maintaining peace and security, promoting human rights, fostering social and economic development, protecting the environment and providing humanitarian aid in cases of famine, natural disaster and armed conflict.

Mr. Pinkrah NGO won the 2016 Middle East and Africa Business Award and was a Civil Society of the Year finalist nominee by Africa Youth Award. He has currently awarded a grant from BUSAC Fund to fight poverty and unemployment in the country.
