Jacob Osei Yeboah Writes: Hmmmm!! Former NDC Gov’t Officials Singing Dirges On Ghana Card

Around October 2013, I took three of Former President Mahama's ministers to Germany on National Identity Management. As a matter of fact, they included Hon. Julius Debrah, Eric Opoku and Hon. Oppong Fosu. These were wise ministers and wanted to create name for their party, NDC.

They quickly organised in December 2013, a stakeholders meeting at local government institution at East Legon, where even the key mentioned names of SSNIT officials attended. But they did not have the power to implement and sooner these three wise men recognised as Ecc 10:6 says "Folly is set in great dignity" and their party NDC and Ghana could be endangered.

This was followed by the NIA board and AMA until 2016, all under Mahama. Hon Julius when he became the local government minister even had a meeting with the then NIA boss, Dr. Josiah Cobbah to see how to initiate the NIA project jointly.

Even when Hon Julius was the chief of staff, still passionate about this project, with Hon. Oko Vanderpuije more than convinced, initiated pilot for AMA. But they still did not have. But what happened to all these efforts?

The competent efforts by Mahama's government was to quickly ensure that, DVLA, NHIS and SSNIT rolled once again to make money from Ghanaians with their respective cards, when they saw we had proposed one card that can take care of all of these cards from Germany.

The NPP was given a summary of events and within 9 months a lot has been achieved and the card has been launched with all the features that matches any best card in the world.

This is the difference between greediness and selflessness.

So for the Mahama-led government and the Nana Addo led government, Judge for yourself.

I am so glad about what Nana Addo has achieved for Ghana on this new card which is quite a great improvement of what was introduced by the NIA earlier on during the Kufuor regime.

These 4 four wise honourables are burying their faces in their palms, weeping and singing silent deafening dirges with Martin Amidu, never again should NDC form such a government for Ghana.
