A Letter To The Churches: Why?

One of the most profound message of our Lord and master Jesus Christ was “I will build my church and the gate of hell shall not prevail”. I have spent years thinking if the gate of hell can’t prevail against it then something else must, because for the churches I have grown up to meet: there is always something fighting her. What is it? Churches against churches. This is the third letter written to the church referencing what Revelation Chapter Two recorded by John in the Island of Patmos and the letters of William Barclay. I don’t say this in a cynical way, but I think many churches that Jesus came to die for are losing focus or have lost focus of the fulcrum of what a church represents. If the only hope of the world(the church) is in conflict, what will become of this world in some few years to come?

I think the fundamental work of the church according to Act 2:42 should be the teaching of biblical doctrine, provide a place of fellowship for believers, observing the last supper and finally, continuous prayer. I read something profound in the book of Act, and I realized it was difficult to fake your Christianity even before the pastors of old, imagine what happened when Ananias and Sapphira lied to Pastor Peter? But today a drug dealer comes to give man of God money and he calls it seed, he can’t even discern.

Think of what happened when Elymas tried debunking the word of God from reaching the governor? Imagine soldiers coming to arrest Prophet Elijah, what happened? They were consumed with fire from above at the word of the prophet (not even God). The disciples didn’t have anything specific to be eating after their rounds neither do they have any place specific to be sleeping yet they displayed power to an extent that was unbearable- at a single sermon of a preacher without a degree- 3000 people surrendered to God and yet with a master’s degree we can’t even convert our family members. Shout, “Power”.

People served God at the peril of their lives and they died smiling, some even refused deliverance because they are sure where they were going. Today you ask a man of God: where will you go after you die, he answers “only God knows” You mean only God knows the address to your house? Anyway let’s move on. Question: why are we not seeing much power in most churches today? The next two paragraphs address that.

My question is why? Why should a man of God mount media podium and lambast another man of God in a threatening way- , Apostle; you can’t manifest real power with this attitude. No. You say you are a man of God, fine, you have borrowed money from all your church members and travelled, I mean why will you do that? Didn’t you read the bible before answering the call? You condemn tithe and offering and sacrifice offering, just because you are blind- you can’t command wealth. You can be quoting the wealth of King Solomon but you will never get there, why? Because you lack understanding. Jealousy and greed coupled with bitterness and envy have led you to condemn the ministry of genuine men of God because you can’t pay the price they paid. Why? Why are you killing the church? My pastor keep saying, the church is a place to come and be empowered, but what do we see today? We come to church rich and leave poor, we come healthy and leave sick, we come encouraged and leave discouraged, most of the time, we come gifted and leave wasted. Why?

A man of God who doesn’t practice INTEGRITY and PURITY is endangering the lives of the flocks and puts the entire church in danger. The church was redeemed by the blood of Jesus, not your academic accolades and tactics, so to tell me to bring $91 for 91 blessings puts me in a position to doubt your calling. You could be genuine, but you could be genuinely fraudulent. John wrote a letter to the 7 churches and stated categorically that “the doctrine of the Nicoletines which I hate”, so you could be genuine but preaching wrong doctrines, that doesn’t make you right either. The church must go back to the ancient landmarks where “until the spirit of the Lord speaks, nothing moves”, only then can we make progress.

I have witnessed too many decadences in our time. Last time, on Facebook, a “pastor” messaged me privately that I should send GHC 270 and the anointing upon my life will double and he sent me Psalm 27. So I said Aaarrhh. Well, the next day, I blocked him. Now, the church that is responsible for banishing crime has now become part of it, why should this be? The church that is to rusticate corruption are now part of it, Why this error? Why have we turn the house of God into a den of thieves? Repentance sometimes must begin from the pulpit before coming to the pews. To all Christians, note: there are fake ones among us, pray, discern and detach yourself from them, less you become part of their folly. Pastor, if you know within you, you are not called, close the church and go into entrepreneurship to save yourself of the disaster and stop putting peoples’ lives in jeopardy.

I end with a quote from T.A Vuguse: “the church have been vilified and attacked by professors, astrologers and archeologists of old and yet the church still stands strong. What is killing the church is the church itself”. Who is the church? The church is you reading this article. If you get it right, the building will get it right!!!!
