Don't Cut Corners To Grow Business - MTN CEO

Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the leading mobile telecommunications company MTN, Mr Ebenezer Twum Asante called on up and coming entrepreneurs' not to cut conners to grow their business.

According to the MTN CEO businesses thrive base on integrity, trust and prompt service delivery. Saying do not pay bribes to get contracts and other favours to grow your firm.

Mr Twum Asante made called at the 7th Victory Business Summit and Fair held at the Victory Presbyterian Church auditorium at Adentan-Frafraha near Accra.

Speaking on the topic "Service Mission: Catalyst for Sustained Business Growth" Mr Twum Asante opined that every business should have a mission and vision. Saying going by the mission and vision with ethical leadership will blossom the business.

"As Christian business men and women we must leave by the Christian ethos in all our dealings and the lord God bless and sustained our business" he maintained.

Mr Twum Asante however, cautioned that the desire to set up businesses should not be solely on profit but how it will affect human kind positively.

Mr Prince Asare, a Legal Practitioner and Entrepreneur took participants at the summit through the 'dos and don'ts' of running Small & Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in Ghana.

He admonished SMEs like barbering shops, hairdressing salons, road side mechanic's owners to register their business.

"You need to register your business as the law requires. This is the first step every entrepreneur should take" he added.

The Lawyer cum entrepreneur also advised business owners to pay their taxes promptly to avoid legal tassel.

"When you fail to pay your taxes and the law caught up with you, the law enforcement agencies will come after you and at that point you will have no excuse" Mr Asante reiterated.

In his welcome address, the Chairman of the Planning Committee, Mr K. O. Adu Labi called on participants to who has Business Plans to forward it to the committee for guidance and support.

"The submissions should demonstrate clearly what the plan intends to achieve and how such a business will make a difference in the market place. Sustainability and profitability should also be in evidence" he opined.

Mr Adu Labi hinted that deadline for submissions is on the 18th July 2017. All entries will be reviewed and shortlisted for detailed consideration after which the first three in terms of responsiveness will be assisted with soft loans by Victory Presbyterian Church organizers of the summit for the roll out of the plans. He added.
