First Director Of Ho West District Education Directorate Retires

Staff of the Ho West District Education Directorate were joined by the Deputy Regional Director of Education, Volta, the immediate past Regional Director of Education, Volta, the Principal and Vice Principal of E.P. College of Education, Amedzofe, the representative of the Member of Parliament, Ho West and heads of second cycle institutions and basic schools in Ho West to gracefully bid farewell to Mr. Seth A. Ayivi-Tosuh, the first Director of Education, Ho West District as he retires from active service.

On Thursday, August 4, 2016 in the Assembly Hall of Kpedze SHS where the ceremony was held, the MP in an address delivered on his behalf thanked Mr. Ayivi-Tosuh for accepting to serve in Ho West as a Director at a time when the district had no office space for its Education Directorate. He thanked him for his support towards all his educational intervention programmes geared towards improving the quality of education in the district during his tenure; some of which include an Annual Basic Schools Quiz Competition, SHS Students Scholarship Scheme and the distribution of motor bikes to Circuit Supervisors meant to ensure effective monitoring of teaching and learning in the district.

In his remarks, Mr. Ayivi-Tosuh was full of thanks and appreciation to the MP for supporting the renovation of the Directorate's current offices at Dzolo Kpuita with his Common Fund, saying without his support, it would have been impossible for the directorate to have offices from which to work. He appealed to the MP to extend the same level of support to the Directorate and its staff at all times to enable them carry out their duties effectively.

Hon. Bedzrah pledged to continue to work hand-in-hand with all stakeholders in education in the district to improve quality of teaching and learning in schools across the district. He presented a rich Kente cloth to Mr. Ayivi-Tosuh and request of him to all avail himself at all times for Ho West to tap into his worth of experience as and when the need arises.
